At 130cm a child clears almost everything a UK park offers except the headline thrill rides, which mostly sit at 140cm. It is a frustrating band to be in: the park looks fully open, but the two or three rides your child came for may still be out of reach. Where 130cm is the actual threshold
A number of rides use 130cm as their solo minimum, particularly water rides and mid-tier coasters that allow younger children to ride accompanied from 110cm. For those, 130cm is the point at which a child no longer needs an adult with them — which for many families is the more important milestone than the ride opening at all.
Maximum heights start to matter
Around one UK ride in eleven publishes an upper limit as well as a lower one, typically between 1.90m and 1.96m. Tall teenagers approaching adult height should check these before queueing; they are the restriction most often discovered at the front of the line rather than in advance.
