Planning around 140cm

What 140cm opens

140cm is the line almost every major park in this guide uses for its biggest thrill rides. Above it, a rider can access essentially the whole park: over 95% of all rides we track in each of the three countries are available at 140cm. For most families it is the last height milestone that changes what a day looks like.

The remaining constraint is the upper limit

Once height stops being a floor it can become a ceiling. Roughly one ride in ten publishes a maximum, usually between 1.90m and 1.98m, set by the restraint rather than the ride. Alton Towers' Rita and Toxicator stop at 1.95m and TH13TEEN at 1.96m; several UAE coasters sit at 1.95m. Tall riders should check these in advance.

Other restrictions still apply

Height is only one of the requirements a ride can carry. Age minimums, medical restrictions covering back, neck, heart and pregnancy, and rules about prosthetics and casts all apply independently of height, and parks apply them at the gate. Our guides cover height; the park's own accessibility page covers the rest.
