Parque de Atracciones de Madrid is a theme park in the Casa de Campo, in the west of Madrid. This guide covers its 30 rides, with the height rule the operator publishes for each. They sit in four areas: Maquinismo (the big thrill rides), Naturaleza, Tranquilidad and the children's area Nickelodeon Land. Paid-for horror walk-through experiences such as The Walking Dead Experience are not included, because the operator lists no height rule for them.
Height Restrictions Overview
Each ride page on the official site lists an "Altura mínima" (minimum height) and, where there is one, an "Altura máxima" (maximum height), plus a line saying which children need an adult. For example, Hero Spin lists a 90 cm minimum with an adult needed from 90 to 140 cm, so a child can ride alone from 140 cm. Many Nickelodeon Land rides list "Sin restricción" (no restriction) and only ask for an adult below a set height. The operator's user guide (Guía del usuario) repeats the height rules in a table and adds age and weight rules for some rides, noted below. The park rules (Normas de funcionamiento, rule 14) also bar under-14s who are not accompanied by an adult who takes responsibility for them. The operator's own height guide page can be filtered by a child's height.
- 8 rides have no minimum height, with an adult needed below 90, 105, 110, 120 or 140 cm depending on the ride.
- 14 rides have a minimum height below 100 cm, all of them with an adult except Coches de choque Rugrats (90 cm, no adult option).
- 17 rides are open to children under 110 cm.
- 22 rides are open to children under 120 cm.
- 29 rides are open to children under 140 cm.
- 1 ride has a 140 cm minimum with no adult option: Top Spin.
Maximum heights are 193 to 200 cm on the big rides, and 140 cm on Coches de choque Rugrats and TMNT - Licencia para Conducir.
Height Categories Explained
No Height Restriction (8 Attractions)
These rides list no minimum height. Children under the stated height need an adult: under 90 cm (and/or under 4 years old) on Los globos locos; under 105 cm on Al bosque con Diego; under 110 cm on Tiovivo; under 120 cm on Nickelodeon Express, Cazamedusas de Patricio and Magneto de Jimmy Neutron; under 140 cm on La Jungla and Zeppelin. For Magneto de Jimmy Neutron the ride page says children under 120 cm sit in a central seat with an adult (which covers under-90s too), while the user guide asks for an adult only under 90 cm and central seats under 120 cm; the stricter 120 cm is used here.
90 to 99 cm
These Nickelodeon Land rides open at 90 cm with an adult: Patrulla Canina (alone from 120 cm), Padrinos voladores (alone from 120 cm on the ride page; the user guide asks for an adult only under 105 cm, and the ride page is the stricter source on both tiers), Hero Spin (alone from 140 cm) and La aventura de Dora (alone from 130 cm). Coches de choque Rugrats is 90 cm with a 140 cm maximum and no adult option; the ride page says children from 90 to 100 cm go with another child under 140 cm. Splash Bash opens at 95 cm with an adult (alone from 120 cm); the minimum age is 3, and the ride page also asks for an adult for ages 3 to 6.
100 to 109 cm
TNT - Tren de la mina is 100 cm with an adult (alone from 120 cm, 195 cm maximum); the user guide adds a 130 kg maximum weight and a minimum age of 4, with under-6s accompanied by an adult. TMNT - Licencia para Conducir is 105 cm with a 140 cm maximum and no adult option; the ride page gives ages 4 to 10. Tornado, Tarántula and Tifón are 120 cm with no adult option (maximums of 193, 195 and 195 cm). La Lanzadera is 120 cm with an adult from 120 to 140 cm; the ride page gives a minimum age of 8, and children under 10 need an adult. Star Flyer is 120 cm with an adult (alone from 140 cm).
