Aquopolis Costa Daurada is a water park in La Pineda, in the municipality of Vila-seca on the Costa Daurada, close to Salou. This guide covers its 15 attractions, with the height and weight rule the operator publishes for each. The park is part of the Parques Reunidos group, and its website writes the name as "Aquopolis Costa Dorada" in places.
Height Restrictions Overview
Aquopolis shows a minimum and, where there is one, a maximum height on each attraction's own page, repeats them in a height guide with a height filter, and publishes an accessibility guide (PDF) that gives the same figures for most attractions. Three things to know before you go: the children's areas publish only a maximum height, a few slides list a weight limit per numbered slide, and Speed Race and Vulcano River are marked by the operator as out of service or closed for maintenance.
- 4 attractions list no minimum height: Funny Jungle (maximum 130 cm), and Isla del Tesoro, Mini Park and Tortuga Aventura (maximum 140 cm).
- 6 attractions are open to children under 110 cm: those four, plus Black Hole at 100 cm and Magic Oval at 105 cm.
- 13 attractions are open to children under 130 cm. The 120 cm attractions are Boomerang, Huracán, Zig Zag, Speed Race, Vulcano River, Maui Lagoon and Wave Beach.
- Kamikaze and Splash have a 140 cm minimum height. Splash also has a 190 cm maximum height.
Weight limits are shown on the ride pages. Boomerang and Splash list 90 kg. Black Hole and Vulcano River list 110 kg on a single float and 190 kg on a double float. Magic Oval lists 275 kg for the people sharing the float, not per rider. Huracán, Kamikaze and Zig Zag list limits labelled T1, T2, T3 (on Zig Zag the operator explains these as slides 1 to 3). For Huracán and Kamikaze the highest per-slide limit is the one shown for the ride, so heavier riders may be able to use only some of the slides. Zig Zag's 300 kg for T1 is not a per-rider limit, so no weight limit is shown for it.
Height Categories Explained
No Height Restriction (4 Attractions)
Funny Jungle is a children's play area with a dragon, soft slides and a crocodile slide; the operator lists no minimum and a maximum of 130 cm. Isla del Tesoro (soft slides and a waterfall by the children's lake), Mini Park (a water play castle in water at most 60 cm deep) and Tortuga Aventura (slides on a rocky hill with a turtle that sprays water) list no minimum and a maximum of 140 cm. The operator describes Mini Park for children under 10 and Tortuga Aventura for children under 12.
Funny Jungle's accessibility guide gives 130 cm as a minimum. That looks like the same template slip as Isla del Tesoro's 140 cm in the same guide; the ride pages and height guide give a maximum, which is used here.
100 to 109 cm
Black Hole, the enclosed dark tube slide, lists a 100 cm minimum height and a weight limit of 110 kg for one rider or 190 kg for two on a double float. Magic Oval, the 45 m family slide where up to four people share a float, lists 105 cm and a 275 kg limit for the people on the float together.
120 to 129 cm
Boomerang (maximum weight 90 kg), Huracán, Zig Zag, Speed Race, Vulcano River, Maui Lagoon and Wave Beach all list 120 cm. Huracán's ride page says T1 and T3 120 kg and T2 90 kg, while the attractions list and the height guide say 110 kg for T1 and T3; 110 kg is used here. Zig Zag lists T1 300 kg, T2 90 kg and T3 60 kg, and its guide says to use slide 1, 2 or 3 according to weight. Vulcano River lists 110 kg on a single float and 190 kg on a double float. Speed Race is marked as temporarily out of service on its page, and Vulcano River as temporarily closed for maintenance.
Maui Lagoon and Wave Beach are pools. The operator lists 120 cm as their minimum height, but its park rules also say that children under 1.20 m must wear a life jacket in both pools, The ride pages and accessibility guide list 120 cm, but the park rules make a life jacket compulsory for children under 1.20 m in both pools, and vests are available at each pool, which suggests younger children are let in wearing one. The stricter 120 cm is used in this guide.
140 cm and Over
Kamikaze, the 50 m body slide, lists a 140 cm minimum height and a weight limit of T1 120 kg and T2 110 kg; riders over 110 kg can use only T1. Splash, the board slide for racing a companion, lists 140 to 190 cm and a maximum weight of 90 kg.
Tips for Visiting with Different Heights
- Under 100 cm: 4 attractions are open: Funny Jungle, Isla del Tesoro, Mini Park and Tortuga Aventura.
- 100 to 104 cm: the attractions above, plus Black Hole.
- 105 to 119 cm: 6 attractions are open in total, adding Magic Oval.
- 120 to 130 cm: 13 attractions are open in total, adding Boomerang, Huracán, Zig Zag, Speed Race, Vulcano River, Maui Lagoon and Wave Beach.
- 131 to 139 cm: the same attractions, except Funny Jungle, whose maximum is 130 cm.
- 140 cm and over: Kamikaze and Splash open. Isla del Tesoro, Mini Park and Tortuga Aventura close above 140 cm, and Splash closes above 190 cm.
Check each slide's weight limit as well as its height; the children's areas also carry age wording (under 10 at Mini Park, under 12 at Tortuga Aventura). Under-14s must enter with an adult, the park rules say, and guardians must stay beside and within arm's reach of children aged 0 to 5 or non-swimmers, close by with eye contact for ages 6 to 10, and in eye contact for ages 11 to 14.

The Speedy Pass, a separate add-on, is listed for Black Hole, Boomerang, Magic Oval, Speed Race and Splash. Getting There
The park is on Paseo Marítimo Pau Casals, in La Pineda, Vila-seca. By car, take AP-7 exit 35 (Vila-seca, Salou, Reus Sur) and follow signs to La Pineda and the Paseo Marítimo, or arrive from Salou by the Salou-Tarragona dual carriageway. The operator lists a bus every 20 minutes from Tarragona bus station with a stop in front of the park, buses from Cambrils and Salou, Reus to La Pineda, and Sitges to Salou lines. By train, the nearest stop it names is Salou, with a bus connection to La Pineda.
Opening Hours
Aquopolis Costa Daurada is a seasonal summer park. Its calendar shows the open days and hours for each date and was marked closed for the season when checked, with reopening announced for the next summer.
Final Thoughts
For families at Aquopolis Costa Daurada, the useful numbers are 100 cm for Black Hole, 105 cm for Magic Oval, 120 cm for the main slides and pools, and 140 cm for Kamikaze and Splash. The children's areas list no minimum but close above their 130 or 140 cm maximum. The operator also publishes weight limits for many slides, so confirm the figures on the signs before you queue.
