Aqualandia is a water park in the Sierra Helada natural park, in Benidorm on the Costa Blanca. This guide covers its 16 attractions, with the height, weight and swimming rule the operator publishes for each. The operator sorts them into children's, moderate and extreme categories.
Height Restrictions Overview
Aqualandia states a minimum height on the page of most slides; Mini Zig-Zag and Black Hole list none. Its park information page adds that the minimum to use a slide alone is 1.20 or 1.25 m depending on the attraction, and that every attraction requires you to be able to swim. Its FAQ says the youngest children can use the children's area, the pools and Mini Zig-Zag with an adult. Under-13s must enter the park and stay with an adult over 18, and 13 to 18 year olds need an adult to take responsibility for them, according to the park rules.
- 6 attractions list no minimum height: Adventureland, Laguna, Mini Zig-Zag, Niágara and Piscina de Olas, plus slide number five at Zig-Zag, which has no minimum height.
- 12 attractions are open to children under 130 cm. Pistas Blandas and the green and orange Big-Bang slides are 120 cm; Cyclón, Rápidos, Splash, Zig-Zag, the yellow and blue Big-Bang slides and the green Verti-Go slide are 125 cm.
- The red Verti-Go slide has a 140 cm minimum height. Both Verti-Go slides list a 120 kg maximum weight.
- Amazonas, Black Hole, Géiser and Gran Jacuzzi Iguazu have ride pages with no height rule, so their height requirement is shown as not listed.
The operator's FAQ says most attractions need 1.20 m, while the ride pages list 125 cm for several; the figure on each ride page is the one used here, and the lowest height is stored where a ride has slides with different minimums.
Height Categories Explained
No Height Restriction (6 Attractions)
Adventureland is the children's area, with slides, water jets, a ball pool and a children's maze; children must be accompanied by an adult, especially under six, adults may not use the children's games, and staff judge use of the area by the child's physical characteristics. Laguna is an activity pool with trampolines, rings, a zip line and nets; its children's zone is used only by small children, non-swimmers may only use the outer part, swimming is otherwise required, and staff judge use by the child's physical characteristics. Niágara is a beach-style pool with caves behind waterfalls, and Piscina de Olas is a wave pool with progressive depth. Children who cannot swim may only go past the first line of Niágara and Piscina de Olas with an adult. Mini Zig-Zag is the children's slide, and no minimum height is listed. At Zig-Zag, children who cannot swim or use flotation aids may only use slide number five, with an adult, because that slide has no minimum height.
120 to 129 cm
Pistas Blandas, five parallel racing mat slides, lists a 120 cm minimum. Big-Bang, a set of four free-fall slides, lists 120 cm for the green and orange slides and 125 cm for the yellow and blue ones. Cyclón, the 36 m slide on a four-seat float, Rápidos, the family rapids float ride, Splash, the multi-lane racing slide, and the other four slides of Zig-Zag are 125 cm. Verti-Go has two capsule slides, 28 m and 33 m high: the green slide is 125 cm and the red slide is 140 cm, and each lists a 120 kg maximum weight. Cyclón lists 200 to 320 kg per float.
Height Not Listed
Amazonas (the lazy river), Black Hole (a float slide with a total weight limit of 180 kg, where an adult sits behind a child who cannot swim), Géiser (the cooling-off area) and Gran Jacuzzi Iguazu (the large jacuzzi) have ride pages with no height rule. The operator says every attraction has a height gauge for reference.
Tips for Visiting with Different Heights
- Under 120 cm: 6 attractions are open: the children's area, the pools, Mini Zig-Zag and slide number five at Zig-Zag, with an adult where the operator asks for one. Attractions with no height rule listed are not counted here.
- 120 to 124 cm: adds Pistas Blandas and the green and orange Big-Bang slides.
- 125 cm and over: 12 attractions are open in total, adding Cyclón, Rápidos, Splash, the other Zig-Zag slides, the yellow and blue Big-Bang slides and the green Verti-Go slide.
- 140 cm and over: the red Verti-Go slide opens too.
The operator says swimming ability is required on every attraction. Check the weight limits as well: 120 kg per Verti-Go slide, 180 kg total on Black Hole and 200 to 320 kg per float on Cyclón.
Ticket Pricing
At the box office, a one-day ticket is €41 for adults (13 to 64 years old) and €33 for juniors and seniors (4 to 12 years old, and 65 and over); children aged 0 to 3 enter free with an adult. The operator lists online tickets from €35 for adults and €28 for juniors and seniors, and cheaper afternoon tickets valid from 15:00. Combined tickets with Mundomar are also sold. Parking at Aqualandia is free.
Getting There
Aqualandia is in the Sierra Helada natural park, 03503 Benidorm, Alicante. By road, the operator directs visitors off the AP-7 at the Benidorm Levante, Callosa d'en Sarrià exit and then along Avenida de Penetración del Rincón de Loix to the car park. Alicante airport is 55 km away and Valencia airport 140 km, and the TRAM links the coastal towns between Dénia and Alicante.
Opening Hours
Aqualandia opens on selected dates rather than every day; the park calendar on the official site shows the open days and whether the day runs 10:00 to 19:00 or 10:00 to 20:00. Rides close 30 minutes before the park closes, and opening times can change for technical, operational or weather reasons.
Final Thoughts
For families at Aqualandia, the useful figures are 120 cm for Pistas Blandas and two of the Big-Bang slides, 125 cm for most of the other slides, and 140 cm for the red Verti-Go slide. The children's area, the pools, Mini Zig-Zag and slide five at Zig-Zag list no minimum height, but everyone needs to swim to use the attractions, and children who cannot swim go with an adult. Amazonas, Black Hole, Géiser and Gran Jacuzzi Iguazu do not list a height rule, so confirm it on site.
