The Short Answer
On rides alone, Paultons Park wins at every height. A child of 90cm can ride 32 rides at Paultons Park against 23 at LEGOLAND Windsor. At 100cm it is 37 against 29, and at 120cm 40 against 31.
LEGOLAND Windsor is still the better day for some families: children who love LEGO, and rainy days, because it has more indoor rides.
Both parks are in the south of England and are built for children up to about 12, so many families choose between them. Here is how they compare, height by height.
How the Two Parks Handle Height
The parks set their rules very differently, and it changes how your day feels.
LEGOLAND Windsor uses two heights on most rides: one to ride at all, and a higher one, usually 130cm, to ride without an adult. Below that line, a responsible person aged 16 or over must ride too. In return, 11 of its rides have no minimum height as long as an adult rides along, including LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, Laser Raiders and Fairy Tale Brook. (For the difference between "with an adult" and "alone" heights, see our guide to the two-tier system.)
Paultons Park has more rides with no height rule at all. 18 attractions have no restriction, and a few more have no minimum when an adult rides along. Many rides also have age rules for riding without an adult (for example, children under 7 or 8 must be accompanied), so check the notes on each ride.
A ride counts in our numbers at a given height if your child can board it, alone or with an adult. At any height, a child can ride 21 rides at Paultons Park, with an adult where needed, and 11 at LEGOLAND.

Under 100cm: What Each Park Offers
Paultons Park
Peppa Pig World is the reason many families go. Eight of its rides have no height restriction: Peppa's Big Balloon Ride, Grandpa Pig's Little Train, Grandpa Pig's Boat Trip, Daddy Pig's Car Ride, Windy Castle, Miss Rabbit's Helicopter Flight, The Queen's Flying Coach Ride and Grampy Rabbit's Sailing Club. The ninth, George's Dinosaur Adventure, opens at 85cm. Muddy Puddles, Mr Potato's Adventure Playground and George's Spaceship Indoor Playzone fill the gaps between rides.
The rest of the park adds more for babies and toddlers: Ghostly Manor (the interactive dark ride), Seal Falls, the Rio Grande Train Ride, Viking Boats, The Dinosaur Tour Co. and the Digger Ride all have no height restriction. The Tea Cup Ride opens at 75cm and Al's Auto Academy at 80cm.
At 85cm Dino Chase opens, a first coaster. At 90cm Cat-O-Pillar Coaster, the Buffalo Falls log flume, Farmyard Flyer, Windmill Towers, Kontiki, Pirate Ship and Splash Lagoon follow, and Vild Swing joins at 95cm. That takes a 95cm child to 33 rides. Our Peppa Pig World vs Thomas Land comparison goes deeper on the toddler end.
LEGOLAND Windsor
Under 90cm, your child can ride the rides with no minimum height, always with an adult beside them: LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, Laser Raiders, LEGO City Deep Sea Adventure, Fairy Tale Brook, Coastguard HQ, Balloon School, Aero Nomad, Desert Chase, DUPLO Express, LEGOLAND Express and The Hill Train.
90cm is LEGOLAND's big day. More rides open at this single height than at any other, including both first coasters, DUPLO Dino Coaster and Dragon's Apprentice, plus Fire Academy, Haunted House Monster Party, Merlin's Challenge, Spinning Spider, Destiny's Bounty and DUPLO Airport. Thunder Blazer and Scarab Bouncers also open at 90cm and are ridden without an adult. L-Drivers, the junior driving school, is only for children from 90cm to 110cm. Your child can do it for a few years, then they grow out of it.
Verdict under 100cm: Paultons Park, and by a wide margin under 90cm. If your child is between 90cm and 99cm and loves LEGO, LEGOLAND is a reasonable choice, but Paultons still has more to ride.
100cm to 119cm
Paultons Park at 100cm
Three bigger coasters open at 100cm with an adult: Velociraptor, a multi-launch coaster, Storm Chaser, a spinning coaster, and Flight of the Pterosaur, a suspended family coaster. Sky Swinger joins them. All four can be ridden alone from 120cm. Raven, the bobsled coaster rethemed for the Valgard area in 2026, opens at 110cm with an adult.
LEGOLAND Windsor at 100cm to 110cm
At 100cm, The Dragon (the park's classic family coaster, which starts indoors), Pirate Falls: Treasure Quest, Flight of the Sky Lion, Fire & Ice Freefall, Hydra's Challenge and Jolly Rocker open, all with an adult. Minifigure Speedway, the duelling shuttle coaster, follows at 105cm. At 110cm your child can take the wheel at LEGO City Driving School, which is solo only and runs from 110cm to 150cm.
Verdict at 100cm to 119cm: Paultons Park on numbers (38 against 31 at 110cm), and its 100cm coasters are a step up in thrills from anything at LEGOLAND. LEGOLAND's best rides at this height are its indoor ones: The Dragon, Flight of the Sky Lion and LEGO NINJAGO The Ride.
120cm and Up
At 120cm Paultons Park adds Cyclonator and Edge (with an adult), and at 125cm Drakon, its first looping coaster, opened in May 2026. From 125cm every ride at Paultons is open to your child.
LEGOLAND's last ride, Autumn's Riding Adventure, opens at 120cm and is ridden solo. Nothing at LEGOLAND needs more than 120cm. The bigger change comes at 130cm, when your child can ride almost everything without an adult. That matters if you want an older child to go round with a sibling while you stay with a toddler.
Verdict at 120cm+: Paultons Park for bigger rides. LEGOLAND works for a 130cm child mainly if a younger sibling is the focus of the day, and the older one can enjoy the freedom to ride alone.
For children who have outgrown both parks, our guide to the UK's 130cm and 140cm rides covers what comes next.
The Verdict by Child Height
| Your child's height | Better choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Under 85cm | Paultons Park | Peppa Pig World and many more rides with no height restriction |
| 85cm to 89cm | Paultons Park | Dino Chase and George's Dinosaur Adventure open; LEGOLAND gains nothing until 90cm |
| 90cm to 99cm | Paultons Park | More rides, though LEGOLAND's 90cm step is big |
| 100cm to 119cm | Paultons Park | Velociraptor, Storm Chaser and Flight of the Pterosaur with an adult |
| 120cm+ | Paultons Park | Cyclonator, Edge and Drakon; LEGOLAND has nothing above 120cm |
| Any height, LEGO fan | LEGOLAND Windsor | The theme, Miniland and LEGO building matter more than ride count |
When LEGOLAND Windsor Is the Better Day
The ride counts favour Paultons, but they are not the whole story.
- Your child loves LEGO. Miniland, the building areas and LEGO NINJAGO World are things no other UK park offers.
- The forecast is wet. LEGOLAND has more indoor rides in our data, including LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, Laser Raiders, LEGO City Deep Sea Adventure, Haunted House Monster Party and Flight of the Sky Lion. Paultons' indoor options are George's Dinosaur Adventure, Ghostly Manor and the soft play.
- You are coming via the M4 or M3. LEGOLAND is just off both motorways near Windsor, while Paultons is near Southampton off the M27. Our guide to theme parks near London for small children compares the options around the capital.
Prices and Free Entry
At the time of our last check, our listings showed £32 per ticket at LEGOLAND Windsor, plus parking from £12, and £46.75 at Paultons Park, with free parking. Both parks change prices by date and are cheaper booked online in advance, so check before you buy.
Free entry differs too. At the time of our last check, LEGOLAND let children under 90cm in free, while Paultons let children under 1 metre in free. A child between 90cm and 99cm is therefore free at Paultons but not at LEGOLAND, the same band in which Paultons already has more rides.
