Theme Park Updates: March 2026 — Complete Verification, Translations & Season Openings

What's New in March 2026

Update, October 2026: This post records where things stood in March. Since then we've run a freshness review of every listing in May and, in August, re-read every park ride by ride against its own website. We now cover 124 parks (41 in the UK, 34 in France, 31 in Spain and 18 in the UAE) and 3300 rides. The spring openings below have happened: World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris opened with no height restriction on its rides, Flamingo Land reopened, Chessington's PAW Patrol rides opened from 90cm with an adult, and Bluey the Ride at Alton Towers opened from 90cm with an adult. Three heights in our spring table were wrong and are corrected below: Vild Swing (95cm), Valkyrie (110cm with an adult) and Kyûbi Unchained (105cm with an adult). Brean Theme Park reopened for 2026.

We've completed a full verification of every park in our directory, significantly expanded ride data at dozens of parks, and updated all French and Spanish translations to match. Meanwhile, the 2026 season is kicking off with some of the biggest new attractions in years.

Complete Website Verification: All 86 Parks

We've now verified height restriction data for every single park in our directory by browsing each park's official website. This is the first time all 86 parks have been systematically checked against their source.

What changed

• 2,339 rides now tracked across all 86 parks (up from ~2,100 before verification)
• Major ride additions at parks where our data was incomplete:
  • Festyland: 31 → 40 rides
  • Yas Waterworld: 33 → 39 rides
  • Fraispertuis City: 17 → 29 rides
  • Le PAL: 21 → 31 rides
  • Walibi Rhône-Alpes: 17 → 28 rides
  • OK Corral: 21 → 31 rides
  • Aquaventure Dubai: 24 → 28 rides
  • Futuroscope: 22 → 27 rides

Those were the March counts. Rosters have changed again since: some parks added new rides, and some entries were removed because they no longer appear on the park's own site. Festyland now has 28 rides in our data and Yas Waterworld 42; each park page shows its current count.

Height classification fix

During verification, we discovered and fixed a bug in how rides were categorised. Rides where heightMinAlone was set but heightMinWithAdult was null (meaning no adult accompaniment option exists) were incorrectly counted as "no restriction". These are now correctly classified by their heightMinAlone value. This affected height breakdowns at most parks.

• Frontmatter synced — ride counts, height breakdowns, prices, and dates now match the English source exactly
• Descriptions translated — every park's description and metaDescription freshly translated to FR and ES
• Body content translated — full markdown guides updated for all 45 parks where the English content had changed

2026 Season Openings: What's Happening Now

Disneyland Paris: World of Frozen — March 29

Disneyland Paris opens its biggest expansion in decades on March 29. Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) launches with:

• Frozen Ever After — boat ride through Arendelle (no height restriction, confirmed since opening)
• Raiponce Tangled Spin — family spinner (no height restriction, confirmed since opening)
• Minnie's Dream Factory — live show

Flamingo Land: Lion Coast — March 21

Flamingo Land reopens after its full 2025 closure. The headline addition is Lion Coast, a reimagined boat ride featuring a living lion pride and cape fur seals — making it one of the few UK parks combining big cats and coasters.

Since then: the park reopened on 21 March 2026, but its own ride restrictions page still lists the ride as the Lost River Ride. It needs 99cm with an adult, or 122cm to ride alone.

Confirmed Heights for Spring 2026

Updated October 2026 with the heights each park now publishes:

Chessington: PAW Patrol World

Chessington is opening an entire PAW Patrol-themed land this spring with four new rides designed for young children. They have since opened, and each needs 90cm with an adult (16+):

• Chase's Mountain Mission — junior coaster: 110cm to ride alone
• Skye's Helicopter Heroes — helicopter family ride: 110cm to ride alone
• Zuma's Hovercraft Adventure — UK's first "Drifter"-style ride: 120cm to ride alone
• Marshall's Firetruck Rescue — firetruck ride: 110cm to ride alone

Park Status Reminders

• Brean Theme Park — the operator went into liquidation on January 28. Reopening was targeted for March 21 but uncertain. Since then: the park reopened for 2026 and was open and trading at our May check.
• Brighton Palace Pier — for sale since January 2026, continues to trade normally (still the case at our May check).
• Funland Hayling Island — housing development planning application submitted October 2025; park operating as normal for now. At our May check the application was still undecided and the rides it would affect were still on the park's ride list.
• Ferrari World Abu Dhabi — Formula Rossa is now world's 2nd fastest coaster (240 km/h), surpassed by Falcon's Flight (250 km/h) at Six Flags Qiddiya. The park has since announced a new record-breaking coaster; it wasn't open at our August check.
