• Toddlers (under 95cm): Legoland Dubai, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi and the family pools at Dreamland Aqua Park and Yas Waterworld.
• Ages 4 to 7 (about 100 to 120cm): Legoland Dubai and Warner Bros World become almost fully open at 110cm. The water parks open up at 120cm.
• Tall kids and teens (130cm+): Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, IMG Worlds of Adventure and Motiongate Dubai, plus the big slides at Aquaventure.
• Hot days: Warner Bros World, IMG Worlds and SeaWorld Yas Island are indoor parks, and Ferrari World is mostly indoor. The water parks are outdoors.

How Height Works in UAE Parks

UAE parks use the same two-number system as Europe: a lower height to ride with an adult and a higher one to ride alone (explained in our with adult vs alone guide). The difference is where the numbers sit. Many UAE water slides and family rides start at 105 to 110cm, and the big slides at 120cm, so the count of rides climbs steeply between 100cm and 120cm:

Below 110cm the UAE offers a smaller share of its rides than the UK or France do at the same height. Part of that is the mix: a third of the parks are water parks. Part is missing data. Real Madrid World and Al Montazah Pearls Kingdom don't publish ride heights, so we mark their rides "Height not listed" rather than guess. They count towards the total but not as rideable at any height.

Best UAE Parks for Toddlers (Around 90cm)

Legoland Dubai is the clearest choice, and the park describes itself as designed for families with children aged 2 to 12. At 90cm a child can go on 15 of its 27 attractions, including DUPLO Express and Submarine Adventure (both from 80cm with an adult) and Lost Kingdom Adventure (90cm with an adult). Some Legoland Dubai rides also set minimum ages, so check each ride page.

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi has more for small children than its size suggests. Cartoon Junction Carousel, Ani-Mayhem, Scooby-Doo: The Museum of Mysteries and The Jetsons Cosmic Orbiter all take riders from 80cm with an adult.

Water parks for toddlers. Dreamland Aqua Park's lazy river, wave pool and splash areas have no height limit. Yas Waterworld has a toddler playground plus junior slides from 90cm.

Read the counts with care. At some parks they include shows, shops and meet-and-greets as well as rides. They also ignore age rules. Ski Dubai and Snow Abu Dhabi score well on height, but neither admits children under 2. CLYMB's activities have no height limit, but indoor skydiving starts at age 3 and climbing at age 4.

Best Parks for Ages 4 to 7 (100 to 120cm)

110cm is the big step at the theme parks. Legoland Dubai goes from 19 attractions at 100cm to 26 at 110cm, and Warner Bros World from 15 to 22. A child of 110cm can enjoy almost all of either park.

At the water parks the bigger step is 120cm. Aquaventure Dubai goes from 15 attractions at 110cm to 29 at 120cm. Wild Wadi is similar. Most of its slides open at 110cm, with Jumeirah Sceirah and Tantrum Alley at 120cm. If your child is close to 120cm, a water park day is worth timing for after they reach it. Best Parks for Tall Kids and Teens (130cm+)

Once a child is 130cm, almost every UAE park is open to them. The question becomes where the biggest rides are. These are the UAE rides with the highest minimum heights:

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the most height-restricted UAE theme park that publishes its heights. A 120cm child can go on 18 of its 26 attractions, against 25 at 140cm. Flying Aces, Turbo Track, Fiorano GT Challenge and Mission Ferrari need 130cm, and Formula Rossa needs 140cm. It's a park to save until children are tall enough.

IMG Worlds of Adventure has Velociraptor at 130cm and Thor Thunder Spin at 140cm. Motiongate Dubai has Capitol Bullet Train at 130cm, and SeaWorld Yas Island has Manta at 130cm.

Limits that catch tall teens and adults. Height maximums and weight limits apply to the whole family:

• Formula Rossa has a maximum height of 195cm and a maximum weight of 100kg.
• Many Adrenark Adventure activities have a 120kg weight limit, and its Toddler Playland is only for children up to 105cm.
• Kids-only rides have upper limits. Legoland Dubai's Driving School is for 110 to 150cm (ages 5 to 13), and Ferrari World's Junior Grand Prix stops at 140cm.

Age rules for older children. The Haunted Hotel at IMG Worlds has no height limit but is for ages 15 and over. At Ferrari World's Karting Academy, riders must be 140cm and under-13s may not drive.

Beating the Heat: Indoor vs Outdoor

Heat shapes a UAE trip as much as height. According to the park listings:

• Indoor theme parks: Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, IMG Worlds of Adventure and SeaWorld Yas Island are all indoor and climate-controlled. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is mostly under its air-conditioned roof, but seven of its rides run outside, including the Flying Aces and Turbo Track coasters and the Junior Grand Prix. Adventureland Sharjah (inside the Sahara Centre), Adrenark Adventure and CLYMB are indoors too.
• Indoor snow: Ski Dubai and Snow Abu Dhabi are kept below freezing, around -1°C to -2°C, and their listings say winter gear is provided.
• Part indoor: Motiongate Dubai mixes air-conditioned dark rides and shows with outdoor coasters. Legoland Dubai is mostly outdoors, but its MINILAND is indoors and air-conditioned.
• Outdoor water parks: Aquaventure, Wild Wadi, Yas Waterworld, Legoland Water Park and Dreamland Aqua Park are outdoors. Their listings describe November to March as the comfortable season, with summer temperatures of 40°C and above.

For young children in summer, an indoor park is the safer plan. Warner Bros World combines a cool environment with plenty of under-110cm rides. If you're doing a water park in the warmer months, arrive at opening and take a break in the shade at midday. A sun hat (Amazon) and a UV swim shirt (Amazon) help with the sun between rides.

Yas Island puts Ferrari World, Warner Bros World, SeaWorld Yas Island, Yas Waterworld and CLYMB close together. Dubai Parks and Resorts does the same for Legoland Dubai, its water park, Motiongate and Real Madrid World. For mixed-height families:

1. Match each park to your shortest child. Legoland Dubai and Warner Bros World work for everyone. Ferrari World leaves a child under 130cm waiting while siblings ride.
