Aqualand Costa Adeje is a water park on the south coast of Tenerife. This guide covers its 17 attractions, with the height, weight and age rule the operator publishes for each. The operator groups them into Adrenaline Fun, Family Fun, Chill Out & Play and Kidzworld areas.
Height Restrictions Overview
Each ride page on the official site shows a "required height" tile, and the official park map repeats most of the figures; Kids Pool is not on the current map. The tiles use a sign: "+1,20M" is a minimum height of 120 cm, and "-1,40M" is read here as a maximum height of 140 cm, which is how the Kidzworld children's areas are limited. Two things to know before you go: the park map and the ride pages disagree on some Kidzworld figures, and Pirates Island shows a minimum on its page but a maximum on the map.
- 8 attractions have no minimum height: the Hidromasaje spa, the Piscina de Olas wave pool and the Lava River have no height restriction at all, and the Kidzworld areas (Kids Pool, Adventure Land, Pelican Bay, Splash Tower and Pirates Island) have a maximum height instead of a minimum.
- 8 attractions are open to children under 120 cm, and they are those same attractions.
- 16 attractions have a minimum height below 130 cm, or none. The slides (Ciclones, Tsunami, Hurakán, Kamikazes, Flying Boats, Multisurf, Tornado and Twister Racer) are all 120 cm.
- Gravity is 140 cm, with a minimum age of 12 and a weight range of 60 to 150 kg on the park map.
- The Kidzworld maximums are 120 cm at Kids Pool, 140 cm at Adventure Land, Pelican Bay and Pirates Island, and 145 cm at Splash Tower.
Height Categories Explained
No Minimum Height (8 Attractions)
The Hidromasaje is an open-air themed spa with 6 hydromassage showers and 28 loungers, and the Piscina de Olas is a themed wave pool with a depth from 0 to 1.80 m; the operator lists both as "SIN RESTRICCIÓN DE EDAD Y ALTURA", meaning no age or height restriction. The Lava River is a 500 m river ridden on a float, according to the operator's blog; both park maps list it with no height restriction, and it has no ride page on the website.
Kidzworld has no minimum height, but each area has a ceiling. Kids Pool is listed at "-1,20M", a maximum of 120 cm. Adventure Land, with six slides, and Pelican Bay are listed at "-1,40M" on their pages and "- 1,45 mts" on the park map, and the lower figure, 140 cm, is stored. Splash Tower is listed at 145 cm on both. Pirates Island shows "+1,40M" on its page, but the operator's 2023 map gave "- 1,40 mts", so the "+" is read as a sign error; the current map gives "- 1,45 mts", and 140 cm is stored as the stricter value. Kids Pool is not on the current park map; the 2023 map placed a Kid's Pool (1,20 m) where Pirates Splash Tower now stands.
120 to 129 cm
Ciclones, Tsunami, Hurakán, Kamikazes, Flying Boats, Multisurf, Tornado and Twister Racer are all listed at "+1,20M", a minimum of 120 cm. They include float slides (Ciclones, Tsunami, Hurakán and Flying Boats), mat slides (Multisurf and Twister Racer) and body slides (Kamikazes and Tornado).
140 cm and Over
Gravity, the float slide more than 20 m high, is listed at "+1,40M" with "+12 AÑOS", so riders need to be 140 cm and at least 12 years old. The park map lists "min.60kg · max.150kg" for this slide, without saying whether it is per rider or per float.
Tips for Visiting with Different Heights
- Under 120 cm: 8 attractions are open: the Hidromasaje, the Piscina de Olas and the Lava River at any height, plus the Kidzworld areas, each up to its own maximum. Children under 90 cm, like babies of 0 to 2 years, enter the park free.
- 120 cm: the 120 cm slides open, and every Kidzworld area is still open, so 16 attractions are open in total.
- 121 to 139 cm: the 120 cm slides stay open, and Kids Pool closes. Adventure Land, Pelican Bay, Splash Tower and Pirates Island are open.
- 140 cm: Gravity opens, for riders aged 12 and over. Adventure Land, Pelican Bay and Pirates Island are still open, and Kids Pool stays closed.
- 141 to 145 cm: Adventure Land, Pelican Bay and Pirates Island close. Splash Tower is open, with the 120 cm slides and Gravity.
- 146 cm and over: the Kidzworld areas are closed. The Hidromasaje, the Piscina de Olas, the Lava River, the 120 cm slides and Gravity are open.
Gravity is the only slide with a published weight range, 60 to 150 kg on the park map, which does not say whether it applies per rider or per float.
Ticket Pricing
The one-day ticket for non-residents is listed at €37 for adults (11 and over) and €29 for children (5 to 10 years old) at the box office, and from €35 and €27 online. The operator also lists Mini (3 to 4 years) at €16 and Senior (65 and over) at €29 at the box office. Babies from 0 to 2 years old, or under 90 cm, enter free. A separate resident rate is offered, and the online one-day price varies by the date chosen. Free parking is shown on the park map. Sun loungers are not included in the ticket price.
Getting There
Aqualand Costa Adeje is at Avenida de Austria, 15, 38660 Costa Adeje, Tenerife. The operator's directions page offers a free bus service, with a timetable available as a PDF, and the park map marks a taxi stop, a bus stop and two free car parks.
Opening Hours
The park is open every day. The operator lists opening hours of 10:00 to 17:00, and 10:00 to 18:00 in July and August; the water attractions close 30 minutes before the park does. The dolphin show is at 15:30 every day. Check the park calendar before you go, because the operator can change hours at any time.
Final Thoughts
For families at Aqualand Costa Adeje, the numbers to know are 120 cm for the slides other than Gravity and 140 cm plus a minimum age of 12 for Gravity. The Hidromasaje, the Piscina de Olas and the Lava River have no height restriction, and the Kidzworld areas have a maximum height rather than a minimum, between 120 cm and 145 cm. Because the park map and the ride pages disagree on some of those maximums, check the signs at each Kidzworld entrance before you queue.
