Aquavelis is a water park in Torre del Mar, on the Costa del Sol east of Málaga. This guide covers its 20 attractions, with the height rule the operator publishes for each. The operator groups them as Adrenaline, Family, Children, Relax, Speed and New.
Height Restrictions Overview
Aquavelis lists a minimum height on the attraction cards of its official website, and several slides add a swimming or companion rule. Its tickets are priced by height, and children under 95 cm do not pay for a ticket.
- 1 attraction has no minimum height: Zona Infantil, where the operator publishes only a maximum of 130 cm.
- 4 attractions are open to children under 110 cm: Zona Infantil, plus Mini Foam, Mini Kamikaze and AquaSplash from 95 cm.
- 12 attractions are open to children under 120 cm. Kid Niagara, Kid Rio and Kid Kamikaze are 110 cm, and Multipistas, Tobogán Colina and Espiral are 115 cm. Magic Hole and Río Rápido are also open from 115 cm with an adult.
- 15 attractions are open to children under 130 cm. Tirabuzón and Pistas Blandas are 120 cm, and Super Niagara is open from 120 cm with an adult.
- Kamikaze has a 140 cm minimum height, and Super Niagara has a 140 cm minimum height when riding without an adult.
- Isla de la Aventura, Zona Spa, Piscina de Olas and Rosco Bay list no height rule on their cards, so their height requirement is shown as not listed.
Zona Infantil, Mini Foam and Mini Kamikaze have a maximum of 130 cm, and AquaSplash 140 cm. The operator also publishes an age rule for the children's areas: Zona Infantil has a maximum age of 8 and AquaSplash a maximum age of 10, and both are self-managed. The park rules say the park may refuse entry to under-13s who are not accompanied by an adult. The cards for Kamikaze, Multipistas, Tobogán Colina, Río Rápido, Tirabuzón, Pistas Blandas, Piscina de Olas and Rosco Bay also say that riders must be able to swim.
Height Categories Explained
No Height Restriction (1 Attraction)
Zona Infantil is the children's area. The operator publishes only a maximum height of 130 cm, with no minimum. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times and the maximum age is 8.
90 to 99 cm
Mini Foam and Mini Kamikaze are open from 95 cm up to 130 cm, and AquaSplash from 95 cm up to 140 cm. AquaSplash has small slides and a water drop; children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult, and its maximum age is 10.
110 to 119 cm
Kid Niagara, Kid Rio and Kid Kamikaze are among the attractions the operator lists as new, all with a 110 cm minimum. Kid Niagara and Kid Kamikaze are used individually, and riders under 1.4 m may use a mini float on their own at Kid Rio. Multipistas, Tobogán Colina and Espiral are 115 cm; riders must be able to swim on Multipistas and Tobogán Colina, and Espiral requires a mat. Magic Hole and Río Rápido have two tiers: 120 cm to ride alone or 115 cm with an adult, and the companion must be over 1.40 m tall and at least 13 years old. A float is needed on both.
120 to 129 cm
Tirabuzón and Pistas Blandas are 120 cm, and riders must be able to swim on both. Super Niagara has two tiers: 140 cm alone, or 120 cm with an adult. Only the double float is allowed, and the companion must be over 1.40 m tall and at least 13 years old.
140 cm and Over
Kamikaze, which the operator describes as an 80 m descent, has a 140 cm minimum height. Riders must be able to swim and water shoes are not allowed.
Height Not Listed
Isla de la Aventura (a new children's area), Zona Spa (a new relaxation area), Piscina de Olas (the wave pool) and Rosco Bay (the wave area ridden on a rental float) have cards with no height rule. They carry age and swimming rules instead: children under 8 must be accompanied, and the wave pool and Rosco Bay require riders to swim. Check the signs at the entrance.
Tips for Visiting with Different Heights
- Under 95 cm: Zona Infantil is open to any height up to 130 cm. The attractions with no height rule listed are not counted here.
- 95 to 109 cm: 4 attractions are open: Zona Infantil, Mini Foam, Mini Kamikaze and AquaSplash.
- 110 to 114 cm: Kid Niagara, Kid Rio and Kid Kamikaze are added.
- 115 to 119 cm: 12 attractions are open in total, adding Multipistas, Tobogán Colina and Espiral, plus Magic Hole and Río Rápido with an adult.
- 120 to 130 cm: 15 attractions are open in total, adding Tirabuzón and Pistas Blandas, Magic Hole and Río Rápido alone, and Super Niagara with an adult.
- 131 to 139 cm: Zona Infantil, Mini Foam and Mini Kamikaze have a maximum of 130 cm, so they close; AquaSplash stays open.
- 140 cm: Kamikaze opens, Super Niagara can be ridden without an adult, and AquaSplash is still open.
- 141 cm and over: AquaSplash closes, as its maximum is 140 cm.
Several of the slides ask riders to swim (Kamikaze, Multipistas, Tobogán Colina, Tirabuzón and Pistas Blandas). The operator's ticket and FAQ pages also say that some attractions have height and weight limits that must be followed, but the attraction cards publish no weight figure.
Ticket Pricing
The operator prices its tickets by height. At the ticket office, the Normal ticket (over 1.40 m) is €30, Junior (1.15 m to 1.40 m) is €24 and Mini (0.95 m to 1.15 m) is €16; Senior (over 65) is €24. Children under 0.95 m do not pay. Buying online is cheaper, listed as "from" €28 for Normal and €22 for Junior. The adult and child prices on this page are the Normal and Junior ticket-office prices. Large-family, Málaga-province resident, group, late-afternoon and 7-day tickets are also listed. Parking is free, with a limited number of places. Sun loungers are €5 to rent, double and single floats are €12 and €8, and lockers are €5 or €4; floats and lockers each carry a €5 deposit.
Getting There
Aquavelis is on Calle Ruta del Pomelo s/n, Urbanización El Tomillar, 29740 Torre del Mar, Málaga. The operator lists it as 20 minutes from Málaga and 15 minutes from Nerja. Parking is free, with a limited number of places.
Opening Hours
The park opens daily in the summer season. In June and September it opens 11:00 to 18:00, and in July and August 11:00 to 19:00. The attractions close 20 minutes before the park closes. Check the operator's ticket page for the current season.
Final Thoughts
For families at Aquavelis, the useful numbers are 95 cm for Mini Foam, Mini Kamikaze and AquaSplash, 110 cm for the Kid slides, 115 cm for Multipistas, Tobogán Colina and Espiral, 120 cm for Tirabuzón and Pistas Blandas, and 140 cm for Kamikaze. Magic Hole, Río Rápido and Super Niagara have a lower height with an adult, and the companion must be over 1.40 m tall and at least 13. Zona Infantil has no minimum, and Isla de la Aventura, Zona Spa, Piscina de Olas and Rosco Bay do not list one. Confirm the figures on the signs before you queue.
