Complete Park Guide

Aquadiver is a water park in Castell-Platja d'Aro, on the Costa Brava in Catalonia. This guide covers its 21 attractions, with the minimum height the operator publishes for each, plus the maximum heights its park rules set for the children's slides. The operator groups its attractions into daring, family, children's and pool areas.

Height Restrictions Overview

Each ride page on the Aquadiver website shows a minimum height, and a rules page ("Normas") repeats it for several rides and adds ceilings for the children's areas. The two sources agree wherever both give a height. Two things to know before you go: the park's ticket prices are set by height rather than age, and Tamy Tamy River and Kahuna Wave put a description instead of a number in their height field.

  • 17 attractions are open to children under 90 cm: those with no minimum height (below) and the attractions with a minimum height of 80 cm. Several of them are children's areas that also have a maximum height.
  • 18 attractions are open to children under 110 cm: the 80 cm attractions plus Splash Mountain at 108 cm.
  • Kamikazes, Aqua Rocket and Waterfall have a 120 cm minimum height, on both the ride pages and the park rules.
  • 21 attractions list a minimum height below 130 cm or none; that is every attraction in this guide.
  • Maximum heights: the park rules say the Kid's Bay slides (Tornado, Tornado Wave, Twister, Proracer and Miniriver) are for children up to 150 cm, and that Mistery Bay is for children up to 120 cm.
  • 2 attractions have no minimum height: Tamy Tamy River, whose height field reads "Para los más pequeños" (for the smallest ones), and Kahuna Wave, whose height field reads "Apto para buenos nadadores" (suitable for good swimmers).

The park rules also say that visitors under 14 must enter the park with an adult and be supervised at all times by the person responsible for them, and that visitors aged 14 and over may enter alone. Pregnant women may not use Aqua Rocket, Kamikazes, Waterfall or Tapu Tapu River, and the rules do not recommend Nimba, Batanga, Nuru, Black Roll or Splash Mountain for them. For Kamikazes, Waterfall and Aqua Rocket the operator does not recommend riding above 110 kg; that is a recommendation rather than a limit, so no weight limits are recorded here. Non-swimmers must use an approved life jacket.

Height Categories Explained

No Height Restriction (2 Attractions)

Tamy Tamy River, a gentle tube slide, shows "Para los más pequeños" (for the smallest ones) in the operator's minimum-height field, with no figure. Kahuna Wave, the wave pool, shows "Apto para buenos nadadores" (suitable for good swimmers) there, with no height figure; it is 1,80 m deep, so the swimming condition applies. Check the signs at the entrance.

Under 90 cm

The attractions listed at 80 cm are Tapu Tapu River, Niagara, Aqua Racer, Nimba, Batanga, Nuru and Black Roll, and the play areas Adventure Island and Fun Temple. They are joined by the children's slides Mistery Bay, Tornado, Tornado Wave, Twister, Miniriver and Proracer, which also have a maximum height. Mistery Bay is for children up to 120 cm, and the Kid's Bay slides (Tornado, Tornado Wave, Twister, Miniriver and Proracer) are for children up to 150 cm. Tapu Tapu River is ridden on an inflatable tube, and the park rules also list a minimum height of 80 cm for it. The ride pages invite adults to go down Miniriver and say children can go down Tornado alone or accompanied, while the park rules cap the Kid's Bay slides at 150 cm.

100 to 109 cm

Splash Mountain, the water roller coaster, is listed at 1,08 m (108 cm). It is ridden in a boat for two people over a 250 m route. The park rules list no height for it.

120 to 129 cm

Kamikazes (two elevated slides, one open and one closed), Aqua Rocket (a free-fall slide) and Waterfall (a steep black-hole slide ridden on a double tube) are all 120 cm. The ride pages and the park rules agree.

Tips for Visiting with Different Heights

  • Under 80 cm: 2 attractions are open: Tamy Tamy River, and Kahuna Wave for good swimmers. Entry to the park is free for children under 80 cm.
  • 80 to 107 cm: 17 attractions are open, the ones above plus the 80 cm slides and play areas listed in the categories.
  • 108 to 119 cm: 18 attractions are open in total, adding Splash Mountain.
  • 120 cm: Kamikazes, Aqua Rocket and Waterfall open, along with everything above.
  • Over 120 cm: Mistery Bay closes above 120 cm, and Tornado, Tornado Wave, Twister, Proracer and Miniriver close above 150 cm. Everything else stays open.

Check the signs at each attraction too, and ask the lifeguards if you are unsure.

Ticket Pricing

The operator prices tickets by height, not age, because it also regulates the use of the attractions by height. On the official prices page, a ticket for people 1,20 m and over is €38 and a ticket for people between 0,80 and 1,20 m is €22. Children under 0,80 m enter free. Seniors (65 and over) pay €22. Discounts apply for people with disabilities and for large or single-parent families. The operator says advance tickets are sold only on its website. Parking lots 1, 2 and 3 are guarded and cost €6, and lot 4 is free. A season-pass offer was shown on the site.

Getting There

Aquadiver is at Ctra. Circumval·lació s/n, 17250 Castell-Platja d'Aro. The operator's "Minibús Gratis" package (entry plus minibus, €43 for 1,20 m and over, €27 below 1,20 m) runs from Palamós, Sant Antoni, Platja d'Aro, S'Agaró and Sant Feliu de Guíxols by reservation and subject to availability, and the operator also lists the Sarfa bus from Barcelona and Girona, the AP-7 motorway (exits 7, 8 and 9 depending on direction) and the nearest Renfe train stations. It describes the park as 25 minutes by car from Girona airport and a little over an hour from Barcelona.

Opening Hours

Aquadiver is a seasonal summer park and is open daily during its season, opening at 10:00. The rides close one hour before the park does: at 17:00 with the park closing at 18:00 in the early and late parts of the season, and at 18:00 with the park closing at 19:00 in the peak weeks. Splash Mountain, Aqua Rocket, Waterfall and Fun Temple run from 11:00, according to the park rules. Check the park calendar on the official site for the current dates.

Final Thoughts

For families at Aquadiver, the numbers to know are 80 cm for the great majority of the slides and play areas, 108 cm for Splash Mountain and 120 cm for Kamikazes, Aqua Rocket and Waterfall. The children's slides also have a maximum height of 150 cm, and Mistery Bay of 120 cm, so check them for taller children. Tamy Tamy River and Kahuna Wave show a description instead of a number in their height field, so confirm the rule on the sign at the entrance.
